Terracotta Antefix — common Roman artifact.
A decorative terracotta end-Tile placed along the eaves of Roman roofs to cover the exposed ends of imbrex Tiles. Antefixes often feature palmette designs, gorgon heads, or theatrical masks in molded relief.
