Amphora
Appearance
Amphora — common Roman artifact.
A large two-handled ceramic transport jar used to ship wine, olive oil, and garum sauce across the Roman Empire. Stamped handles identify the producer and origin, and their distinctive pointed bases allowed them to be stacked in ship holds.
