Paleolithic Ochre Crayons — common Prehistoric artifact.
Shaped sticks and lumps of red and yellow ochre were used by Paleolithic artists as drawing implements. Found at cave sites across Europe and Africa, these iron-oxide pigment Tools show deliberate shaping, grinding facets, and wear patterns from use on Rock surfaces. The earliest known examples date back over 100,000 years.
