A large carved stone projectile hurled by counterweight trebuchets during Medieval sieges from the 12th to 14th centuries. These carefully shaped limestone spheres could weigh up to 150 kilograms and were used to batter castle walls and fortifications across Europe and the Holy Land during the Crusades.
