Saalburg (Germany) — one of the 18 real-world dig sites in Archeological Expedition.
A reconstructed Roman cohort fort on the Limes Germanicus, set in the rolling Taunus hills north of Frankfurt. It was abandoned by the legions, scavenged for stone in the Frankish era, and surrounded by medieval castles in the centuries that followed.
